Great pics and review, Vic! I was very happy with the SOD CG and wondered about the difference between it and the LE. Once my LE arrived, I was even happier with it! Like you said a slightly short DFLE. I've always wanted a CT and I think the SOD fits that bill perfectly!
If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll weigh the CG and LE on my digital scale when I get home this evening. Please do Jeff as I haven't received my LE yet and would really like to know. I imagine Vic is correct though- still fun to check-Thanks

The SOD LE balances in front of the handle at the "point" of the thumb rest. The S6 balances right at the blade/handle junction. The S6 is a little lighter and faster, but the SOD LE has that big, broad, beautiful swedged bowie blade, offering a little more reach. Both are great handling knives. Still love my S6- but I am thinking that the SOD " might" be the best SY to date . And.......I only have my CGs at present. All are great- but sure loving the SODs

As you can see from my other 7" camp knives, I didn't need a SOD LE, but I'm sure glad I ordered one. The one place where SR77 rules is toughness. I would not hesitate to trust this knife in the most demanding of situations. The SODs are great! Now my favorite 10" Bowie has an evil 7.5" twin.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Now my favorite 10" Bowie has an evil 7.5" twin. Hmmm...I think the dog on the logo has to have a little black mustache for it to be an evil twin...

Great review. I haven't had the chance to use my SOD LE, but I do love the way it feels in the hand. It truly exceeded my expectations in looks and initial feel. Loving and using my CG S6 constantly for nearly a year now, I only ordered the SOD LE because I didn't already have an LE. It couldn't possibly rival the S6, I thought. I may have to re-think this now and take it out on my next backpacking trip.

Thanks for the review! Great pictures, tells the whol story. I really got a shock when you showed the SOD along with the Chopweiler and Ratweiler. I was under the impression those 2 were MUCH bigger than what they really are. Thanks again. (now Im off to find a sod-le!)

Great review Vic! As I said once before, I actually like my SODs more than my Camp Tramps, and that's saying a LOT!!!
