I agree Bruce. I am going to use my SOD ( one of them) for camp chores and pack carry -and a CT in my rig. ( as soon as I land a black cg) For me this appears the perfect combo. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Now-I need pick " which" SOD to use and which to " queen" . Not a problem with the CT cause I haven't even been able to land ONE yet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sad.gif" alt="" />. I am thrilled I ordered the SODs as I believe they are going to be as difficult to get as the CTs in the very near future. Especially afer Vic knocks his computer apart with one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />. Hopefuly he doesn't chop his jeep up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> !!

Vic nailed it, it is not the Infi, it is the Decarb layer from the heat treatment. Infi is very rust resistant.

The SoD is a fantastic knife and I really do like it's aggressive looks compared to the utilitarian Camp Tramp... it is the looker of the two and there is no question that it wins the beauty contest.

I'm lucky enough to have both the SoD and the Tramp and if I had to pick between the two the Tramp would win by the slightest of margins. Why? I like the round choil, flat spine (no ramp) and SR101. That being said, in a price dependant fight the SoD is the winner.

At the end of the day anyone with either knife (or both <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />) wins!

Watch out for spot welds! I put a couple rolls in the edge of my Dog Father when I "fixed" a problematic computer... The welds are extremely hard since they are untempered.

You reckon the SOD will fit in a Specops long sheath?

It doesn't fit it very well at all. The blade is wide and barely can be forced into the sheath, and the thumb rest and finger guard prevent it from going in all the way. It fits the SYKCO Cordura much better.
