So now what is the difference in the 2 Dumpster Mutts... The one like above, and the one with the regular handle, was it just the handles that were different?
You mean the 4 Dumpster Mutts? Combat Grade was the thickest with surplus basic handles. The MOD was DC and serrated with surplus basic handles. The DMDC was DC and no serrations with different handles. The DM LE was satin with different handles with surplus basic handles. This thread has a couple of the Dumpster Mutt variations on it. http://www.scrapyardknives.com/ubbthread...c45ce27d8250bf6

Jim, how did you get 10% of ALL MODs? I bought the limit of one myself in the Razorganza. The rest were all secondary market: one from a Scrap Yard member who contacted me, one from eBay, and two from the BladeForums Exchange. They don't come up for sale often, and since I have so many DMDCs it seems silly to continue adding to the hoard, but I do love a rarity. So far, the most I've paid for a MOD was $170; I let one get away once the bidding exceeded that. I'm also rather proud of having four INFIcoots (my first BusseKin knife was an INFIcoot, purchased 4/7/2007); it should have been five, but I let something in a PM bother me, so I backed out on that one. The guy has a good rep and I knew he was making a joke, but sometimes things just rub me the wrong way. Now I wish I'd been a bit thicker-skinned because the price was reasonable at about twice the release price, the blade was mint, and they sure don't come up often.

Everyone has some amazing steel. The pictures are unbelievable. About the only knives I need are a DFCG or DFLE on the big end and a SS4 or a Lean Mean on the small end. If I could snag one of the bigguns and one of the smalluns, I'd be a very happy camper. This is a picture of my Busse blood relatives.

So I have a DMCG then? Thanks for letting me know. I just thought it was old style DM. Didnt realize there were so many versions of it. Big question now, Can I use this thing or should I get a "newer" dm to use?

Big question now, Can I use this thing or should I get a "newer" dm to use? Yes, you have the original DMCG. It's definitely a user. There was a time when I wondered if Dan was ever gonna make another knife that was not a variation of the Dumpster Mutt.

True, but I just think of it as a DMDC with paint.

Don't be afraid to use it. It'll outlast you! Oh and when the coating starts to come off, send it to Vic and he'll make it a nice shiny DMCG for you It's hard to tell from my pic, but my Ratweiler and my Scrapper have been used more than a little bit , and they still look purdy...

Fug- the one you got was a thick one with the old Busse grips on it I think. I want one like that for a carry in my pack. It would be a user for sure. Holy Smokes there is a lot of folks with very nice steel. Wonder what Dan the Man will have coming next to feed this bunch
