They are both excellent choices, both will serve us all til death without failure, one is just prettier and more expensive than the other <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> do you prefer a glock or a high dollar 1911, both will serve your needs, one is just nicer on the outside.

Way to go SB.

Given that Jerry himself admitted that SR77 and INFI possess exactly the same degree of lateral strength, they should have performed roughly the same in noss's tests. Where INFI beats SR77 is in corrosion resistance and edge holding. Obviously, noss wasn't concerned about testing INFI's corrosion resistance. But he was completely blown away by INFI's edge-holding capability. Whether INFI's superior edge-holding is a "major" difference or a "minor" difference is up to each individual to decide for themselves.

More importantly is the extra edge holding of INFI worth the massive price hike and the nasty micarta?? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Micarta is NICE! It's G10 that is nasty (most of the time). <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

The SOD is tougher!

I don't think the SoD is tougher. Infi is VERY tough. The SoD may be better for you though for the following reasons:
  • It is plenty tough
    It is lighter and I'm sure your gear is already heavy
    It is an easier length for carry
    It is less expensive
    It is a better length for a generalist knife

Now if you can find a SFNO, especially the LE, I would pick that one over the SoD. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Reconseed, what do you use for your small knife solution?

That is good to know Vox as I have never used it and bought another blade that has those scales. It looked a bit different- but I am willing to try it. Nice to hear you like it-Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
