Supposedly, Jerry bought a big batch of 0170-6C at the Camillus bankruptcy auction.
There's no "supposedly" about it, Tolly. A.G. Russell confirmed it.
That being the case should we be thinking Swamp or Busse ? Thanks

I'll take the Scrap Yard thanks. My tests confirm for my use that Scrap Yard knives are better in the survival situation, in fact every situation, for me!

I agree. I like SR-77 over SR-101 anyday. The toughness factor is better as many have stated and I like that about a knife you are going to bet your life on. INFI, IMO, is only better than SR77 in the edge retention and easier to sharpen fields. It also is less prone to rusting than Sr77, but then again, SR77 doesnt rust NEARLY as fast as SR101 does.

I have noticed the same thing. While definitely harder for me to sharpen than the SR101, the 154CM takes the sharpest edge of any knife I own. I don't hear that many praises for it on the forums, but once you get a Bird Dog or Hairy Carry sharp, they are just plain scary, literally razor sharp.

Thanks all for the chatter. I get my answer many times over in this thread. SR-101 is closer to 154CM in edge sharpness and SR-77 is closer to INFI being sharp enough for any task and a beat club as well.

I really do love the Scrap Yard Stainless and am very happy with the one piece of SR-101 I own. But for all my daily tasks around this small farm I live on it's SR-77 in many sizes and shapes for me!

You all have echoed what it has taken me two years to figure out. Swamps are able to get a finer edge than Scrappers. But for performance and price only one knife company makes sound sense.

I have always said I'd not only bet my life on Scrap Yard Knives but my whole family's lives as well.

Spoiled aren't we all? It is so true we argue about such minor differences in the degrees of scalpel sharp in EDC blades while our ancestors would have thought our steel sent from the Gods themselves.

Peace.

Until I can see a Camp Tramp take the real world abuse that Noss gave the S6 or Dan gave the DF, I'll continue to believe that S7 is tougher than 52-100.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Plus of course INFI comes with micarta and sr77 gets the res-C!! Anyone fancy hacking through live power cables with (unmodified) INFI?

My worry with rust has always been under handles not on blades. Black goop under res-C works for me! (On the whole)..

My only Swamp Rat knife (getting back on topic a little!) is a HCLE, that came so d*mn dull it won't cut ANYTHING and frankly the design when compared to a CPM154 Bravo 1 (oddly that arrived a little dull) or my good old SS4 got it (HCLE) chucked in a drawer probably never to see the light of day again...
