I'm thinking about having Rainwalker make up some kind of cool sheath that will hold the new Nessmuk, a BDLE, and a MudPuppy. It'll be my "Triple Threat Set" that I grab when I'm going hunting or fishing. Should take care of any field dressing and skinning duties.

For those of you who have never owned or used a Nessmuk before, they also make excellent kitchen and Camp Cook duty knives. They are super duper veggie choppers!

Sounds interesting Tolly, that would cover a nice range of chores on a successful hunting trip. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

By the way Jeff, I'm actually giving this some very serious thought, so in your free time(yeah right huh?) be thinking about it.

Will do boss! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

What's.... "free time"??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Any plans for a larger survival-oriented knife ala scrapper 6 or SOD in the near future?

I am a field geologist who often works alone in remote areas...jungles of south america, boreal forests of northern canada, etc. Your current offering looks like a wonderful sportsman's knife, but I was hoping for more blade. Some jurisdictions do not permit me to carry a firearm in the field, or it is too much of a hassle doing all that customs stuff.

A bit more blade gives me reach for large snakes. I carry a belt knife to cut one off of me if it drops from a tree. Big blade with chopping and peircing power gives me a feeling of security in bear country as well. I have never been attacked, but have surprised countless black bears and they run off. I'm hoping that this trend continues and I don't bump into any grizzlies either !

I just gotta toss a comment on the pile. No knife is a good weapon against a bear. Bears are bigger, stronger, and faster than you... and they come with 20 claws and some number of fangs. The best weapon against a bear if you must kill one is a stout rifle, followed by a 12 gauge with slugs, and distantly trailed by serious handguns (.44 magnum, .454 casul). Even if you manage to kill a bear with a knife, you're going to take damage in the process, and it will likely be your end.

Of course, simply being alert and seeing the bear before it sees you (bears are not, by nature, subtle creatures) will prevent a situation from developing. Snakes, now, they are sneaky bastards. I don't have any snake experience other than watching them zap into the grass with startling speed as you're about to step on them.

Wow, a multi-tool in the pouch on a Spec-Ops sheath with a good sized fixed blade is pretty hefty.

In regards to getting something of substance, perhaps you can pick up
something like a Dogfather, off of the secondary markets.

Yep, we hope you don't bump into any grizzlies either <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

4 1/4" blade? 3/16" thick? 154CM? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" /> I expected much more....NO THANKS....I'll pass. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" />

I was hoping for a thick hunk of SR77 as well. I will pass, Dogs come feed that love 154CM. You are getting a good knife, just not for me this time around. I am going to let other Dogs feed <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I will wait for the next thick piece of SR77 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You and I are on the same page reconseed! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />
