Just a few shots from a work trip out in Mexico, near Merida, where I attended a workshop. There was a nice little horse trail leading out from the beach that made for some nice walks. Unfortunately, my only blade on the trip was a little butter knife I lifted from the resort during my first meal and returned it back at the end of the stay. Ahw, the non-joy of flying carry-on only!

Lots of sharp prickly things to be had!

Where abouts were you ordawg1? Thus far, I spent a few weeks in Merida and also a week in Cancun and one in Cauzemel. Loved the Island! Merida is a quaint Spanish colonial place. Cancun is tourista hell!

Anywhere coastal can be hell- but also quite nice. I have spent eons of time in Vera Cruz- Colima-Jalisco- San Luis Potosi-Quetaro-zacatecas-San Miguel and all over colonial Mexico. Most folks never see the " roots" or colonial Mexico .Being down in the Yucatan where you were has it's benefits for sure. I love it down there but also love the historical Mexico north. The history is absolutely fascinating and kinda romantic in my opinion. I need to spend more time down where you were as only been there a few times for short stay of a week or two. I have spent months in these other areas. My suggestion for anybody traveling down there is to study the history before going. Great pictures-Thank You <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Orale! Considering all the bad stuff I've been hearing about down south I really appreciate seeing this thread of good news. It's heartwarming. My father was born in Mazatlan and my mother in Mexicali. I have gotten to visit to both those places but most recently I went to Morelia on a missionary trip for church. Beautiful lush green land full of the best fruit and largest mangoes I have ever had! And it's avocado heaven! It's also a colonial place well known for it's museums and history. Thanks for the pics, now I've added some more places to visit.

P.S. Sweet job man! We're in a recession and your touring the beaches, lol.
