OK, I tried searching but did not come up with much. I want to know about the Bird Dog knife from the Yard. From the few pics I have seen I really like it. Was it a one time offering? Specs on it would be great. Do they ever come up for sale?
Thanks

They were available twice; once for those who attended one of the many knife shows that SYK goes to, and the second time was a "Dog Bowl" event; one of three offerings last fall when Renee first came to the yard. The others were the Mud Puppy, and the Tan Yardkeeper. I just checked the knife page, and realized that neither the Bird Dog or the Mud Puppy are up there. Maybe this is something Renee can fix, so newcomers like yourself can learn more about these amazing knives. I'm at work right now, so this is the best I can give you for pics. ![[Linked Image from i321.photobucket.com]](http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn382/tyger75/P9070252.jpg)

Definitely the best knife I've ever used for cleaning up birds. Sharpened it when it arrived and it's still razor sharp after dozens of doves, pheasant, quail, and ducks this year. A shot in the midst of processing a limit of doves back on September 1st... ![[Linked Image from i225.photobucket.com]](http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd261/mtrspeed/img_0065.jpg)

Nice link Jeff, thanks for posting it! Already bookmarked... It would be nice to have the prices added to the descriptions, to have a comparison on what found in the after market

Nice doves there, MHR. I'll have to try and find the pics of me using the BDLE to breast out some Mallards and Canadian Geese. The Bird Dog made it all too easy!

I appreciate it guys. I would love to have one of these knives. I could use it out in the field and as a carry blade too.

I am working on having all the mudder grips- they are sweet for sure. The " muck" is going to be quite the addition for sure- pretty darn impressive

Neither the MPLE nor BDLE were sold through the store, which I believe has been the traditional requirement for knives to be added to the "Knives" page. I recall previous discussions about blades that weren't listed (like the MOD). Knife shows and dog bowls alone weren't sufficient to make the "Knives" page in the past -- perhaps that policy might be re-considered.

Thanks Jim- I knew the BDLE was not- but I thought the MPLE had been ( good info) The MODs are for sure a low run and tough to score. I am glad I came along after new business plan was in effect . On the other hand kind of fun tracking steel down but can get expensive I suppose. Maybe we will see these offered in the store in the near future, The BDLE-MPLE and muck would make a nice set. Just for grins- toss in an SS4-NICE SET
