I was wondering if there was any advantage to the SOD over the DF for any detail work? No doubt the DF is the superior chopper, and would be more front end heavy, but do you see any advantage to take both knives into the woods, and if there is none....would you ever opt to take the SOD over the DF? Hey...I got free time on my hands...

SOD would be better for concealed carry... Plus it's less weight to carry round on the hills! I've only got the DF but that is fine for detailed carving due to the great choil design.

The SOD and DF are the same knife, just in different blade lengths. I can't imagine any reason to carry both of them, except just for fun.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Where would you conceal that puppy Oh, it can be done. Hehe Here’s a pic of me when I carried concealed my DFLE. This pic was taken in the bathroom at Aldi’s. It was a one-person bathroom, the door was locked, with my foot in front of it so one would could come in and $h!t themselves. You can see the tile wall and the stall wall over my shoulder. Why did I do it? Because I can. It’s nice to be able to exercise such freedoms if you choose to. You’re probably wondering how I concealed it. Well, I was wearing jeans with deep pockets. Only the handle stuck out the top, and I covered it with my coat. ![[Linked Image from i6.photobucket.com]](http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y209/andywayne/Knives/Swamp%20Rat/Scrap%20Yard%20Knives/Dog%20Father%20LE/12-20-07-3.jpg)

the SOD would be a terrible EDC blade IMO. its too big, let alone the DF. i mean CAN it be done, well sure i guess. but i mean unless you are going on a hit or something, why would you want to conceal it and carry it that way. It cant be comfortable!!!!! the S6 is as big as i go for EDC and thats pushing it. I would love to have a nice leather shoulder rig for the S6/SOD. THAT would be ideal for CCW!!!!!!

Andy you are amazing! It's a shame we don't live closer we could get into all kinds of fun together!!
I wear my SoD in my Hook Red Kydex and turn the Tek-Lok sideways. I forget I even have it on and its covered by any jacket I wear cause it's higher than the bottom of my belt!
Woot Woot!! I love concealed carry!
Peace.

Some of us like as much knife as we can carry! And it's definitely possible to conceal a large knife like a DF. Ask Rainwalker about his kydex IWB sheaths. Personally, I carry a Yard Guard most of them time, but I could easily swap that out for a DF. I just don't own a DF. Yet.
