I use cotton balls, a firesteel, and fatwood to start a fire.

First I baton some wood.

Get a nice sized pile.

Get a good handful of 3 sizes of wood to start with.

Lay down a wood brace, put the cotton ball fluffed out near it, and lay some thinned out fatwood nearby.

After 1-2 strikes it ignites, and you build it up until it looks like this:

That's a sweet fire Andy! The way I usually set up my brace is by taking two pieces of wood around two in. thick and 8-10in.long and lay them down in a v shape with the open end toward me and the other two ends an inch or so apart. This waythe air gets through the back end. I can lay the small kindling across the brace before starting a teepee shape with the larger kindling.and this leaves me with a nice square hole to put my tinder into as the last step.

ewwwww. One could if they were so inclined could create a napalm like substance by melting styrofoam in gasoline. I hear it burns for quite awhile.

acetone and that hard pink foam insulation..............makes on hell of a gooey ball of fiery goodness.......

Why not make REAL Napalm? I used to mix Ivory Snow laundry detergent with gasoline. Let it set overnight until it gels. Of course that was in the Peace Corps.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
