The BDLE...behind the ear into the Medula...slim enough to penetrate the skull from a close up strike. You need to twist it...instant immobility and death.

Fair enough, mind you. But with the S6 - you can just CRUSH the entire skull. over .25 thick SR77.... i can stab and crush with brutal force.

here is the actual link to what DotD was referencing, I believe... informative read by the way...

http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/knifefighting.html

Yep, that is the link. There are many other topics of interest on that
site in addition to knifefighting however, which is why I posted the main
link.
One big concern for me are the legal ramifications of using a knife for
self defense purposes. Another concern would be the psychological
after-effects of such an encounter. Any Military or LEO folk on here who
have been involved in the loss of life in the line of duty, will probably
be able to attest to that.

There are many well respected LEO's, Martial Artists, and Military folk who
have made contributions to the site and there is also a wealth of resource
material available there.

Overall, I think it's a good site to browse through.
My opinion anyway.

Cheers

OK all you wanna be commandos! A knife is a weapon of last resort, but it is deadly. We don't do duels anymore. If I must defend myself against deadly force using a knife, then I must attack without hesitation. My first choice is to avoid conflict altogther if possible. And my first choice of weapon is a pistol. And with a pistol, I will be trying my best to disengage by backing up while firing.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

If I could choose a blade for such a situation it be the AK or DFLE for a fight or the BDLE or SS4 for the surprise attack, however I think if I ever do find myself in such a situation my Bad Warden or other EDC will be my last line of defence because that is what I more likely to have on me, avoiding the situation will be a higher priority if possible though, and having a firearm instead would be priceless!

I'll pick my personal favorite The Bird Dog.

Fast? Lightning looks like molasses in January.

The Bird Dog is 4.5 inches of shiny DEATH. The wild up sweep and needle tip point make it a guarantee for swift silent penetration.

The slashing effect of the Bird is nothing short of jugular slashing. It has plenty of penetration ans is easy to hone to scalpel sharp.
The tip is a terror and the shape is designed to cut.

With the terrifying up sweep of the Bird insures that even a straight poke is going to lacerate many veins, organs and arteries.

The Bird Dog.

bayonet - attached to the end of my loaded AR. I have no disillusions about me being able to fight with a knife. But if it were a mad max Thunderdome situation, I would guess a SOD (I don't have a DFLE).
