The Busse site has the HG-55 up on it now and the price for the LE is just under $400 which compared to the BATAC LE when released($420) and the Ash LE ($497) seems to be OK...no dramatic increase at least.
I think the LE version might make for a "heavy duty" RMD alternative...thicker stock than the RMD but less "handle" than the BATAC LE which seems a bit "rear" heavy for me...so I went for one...and will give some feed back when it arrives.

I ordered an LE, I already have a Ganza HG55 coming, so I will hold off on a CG order until I see how much I like the Ganza. I know there diff but they should handle similar.

Looks like Jerry made have made some changes. The LE grind looks different and the striations on the CG appear to be much closer together than on the original design . . . a vast improvement I must say. The blade on the CG really does look like it was patterned after the Kershaw Groove now.
Bring on the DG-55 CG, I say! At least with the LE's, it was only lighting that made them look different. All the photographed LE models were number 13.
Enjoy every sandwich.

I have never bought a Busse LE before, but the price and the model were just right this time. Where most folks like a 4" knife for carry, I like a 5".
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I see the different finishes available as options on the main page but nothing comes up for options on the order page. Is work blocking something extra or does a comments section show up after I order - i.e. desert sage/tan grips ???

Don't need another 5 inch blade so I let this one slip by. Got my hooks into the M9 though. That's one fish that's going to land in my boat.
Can you tell that I'm wishing Spring was here soon? Here it is, going into March and we're still getting snow. Usually in our part of this great planet, we are experiencing green grass and flowers by this time. Guess this really is the frozen north this year. Depressing state of affairs it is.

Yes it is .25 thick...probably more on the CG with the coating...I expect .26 or .27 ....the grooves are shallower and thinner on the released CG compared to the military over run which helps asthetically IMO...but personally I see no advantage in them...rather the opposite...I think they would be working against the cutting motion or stabbing motion of the knife...especially a .26 wide knife but with the weight of the knife ( I am guessing at 14 ounces ) I doubt you would feel it due to momentum. You might notice it on "fine" work.... I have said this before...but with the grooves running contra to the edge...they are likely to attract deposits of what is being cut...again a disadvantage IMO... Jeremy Horton thought it was done to make the most of a CAD CAM grinder and limiting time on "human hand finishing" i.e. labour....which seems the best logical reason for doing it to me.

I much prefer the smooth convex grind of the LE. But machines can't do convex grinds very well, so it may be a cost cutting measure.
