Guys, just a heads up on spammers. Please do not reply to their posts as that just keeps them close to the top of the list and actually helps them out.

If you see a spam post, report it by clicking the button at the bottom of the post in question.

We have been getting a lot of this lately and I have been banning about 6 or 7 spammers a day before they manage to post. Unfortunately some of them manage to post before I get them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

A couple have been posted and folks have used the report post button. I then delete the thread and ban the user.

As for catching them early, I watch the userlist to see the latest users. Most spammers user a bunch of random characters as the name. i then check the registration info for email address and IP. If the email looks generated then they are usually nuked. Most of the problems are coming from APNIC IPs as well. Fun huh? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I just like catching them before they pollute the place. Knowing I messed up their plans is good compensation.
