Wazzup! Welcome to the Yard. Hopefully you will find exactly what you are looking for. Ask away, the Dogs are friendly.

Just curious, what kind of folders do you have?

Hello everyone and thanks for the warm welcome. I am having a great time just browsing all the posts here. I'm anxiously waiting for the next knife and hoping it will be something I want. I've looked at the Busse's but they are a little pricey for me. :-) I'm thinking about picking up a Falkniven A1(sp?)...Does anyone know anything about that company or the A1 in particular? I can't wait to get my first SY knife though - I know it'll be awesome.

Art-
I am new to knives and started collecting folders before moving on to fixed...I haven't collected anything expensive as of yet with one exception. My current knives include the following:
Fixed:
Mora Clipper
CTD Rough Knife BOLO
CRKT Ultima Tanto

Folders:
CRKT Kommer Full Throttle
CRKT M21 Special Forces
CRKT Desert Cruiser
Spyderco Byrd Raven, Crossbill, Cara Cara and Flight
Benchmade Griptillian
Spyderco Ladybug White LE
Spyderco Endura 154CM
SPyderco Native
Buck Mayo Hilo
S&W Extreme OPs
S&W M&P Extreme
Spyderco Tenacious
Boker Kalashnikov

And my favorite Spyderco Military CF CPM S90V

I think that is all or most of them...Nothing real expensive..but I love them all. I now want to start collecting the more expensive/valuable knives that appeal to me. I'm still learning all the knife lingo though and have to be careful what I spend my money on.

Thanks!

Fallkniven make some good knives. The A1 and F1 are their most popular models, the A1 being a bigger knife. They both use laminated VG10 steel, which means that a super hard steel (good edge retention) is sandwiched between two softer steels for extra strength and flexibility. They come with a convex edge which offers good cutting abilities as well as a strong edge, but isn't sharpened the traditional way, you need to strop it (youtube is your friend).

Welcome to the Yard, bashman. I almost missed welcoming you, hidden away in knot's post. I try to welcome all new members because that is the way I was treated when I joined. But I'm sure I've missed a few. The yard is a great forum. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
