this knife has more curves and shapes than a dumpser mutt. more machining, higher price.

And if it is 154CM, that likely is more expensive steel than S7, and darned sure harder to grind.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

HooooOOooooly Crap!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

I am FREAKIN' broke and that might be.... - (scratch "might") that "IS" the SWEETEST" looking Scrap yard knife I have seen!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

FREAKIN "GORGEOUS"!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I think the MPLE and SS4 are both VERY sweet. This S5LE looks to TAKE the cake and EAT it to! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

It looks similar to a Scrap-Yard Bog Dog with convex grind! ... and I LOVE mudders! No doubt this will be thicker and more robust than the Bog Dog.... The Bog Dog is an AWESOME knife for the record! And still this S5LE looks even BETTER!!!

This also looks a lot like a Mini / Lightweight SJTAC with Mudders!!!... The convex blade and shape is VERY similar to the SJTAC's blade.

My SJTAC with a few modifications is one of my FAVORITE mid-sized blades.

I LOVE my RMD as well, but I like this blade shape more than the RMD's and this will be lighter weight.... The RMD has been one of the KING smaller to mid-sized knives from all of Busse and kin... Dare I say that this looks to even be BETTER in shape and design than the Incredible RMD!!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

I had conceptualized a RMD handle with two different sized SJTAC blades with the RMD handles skeletonized to cut handle weight. And those concepts were two of the HIGHEST on my favorite Busse and kin concepts of all time!
This S5LE is very close to my smaller Bog Dog II dream knife, but with mudders to save weight rather than a skeletonized RMD handle.

Concept Rats!!! - Rat Jack & Bog Dog II

I personally WISH this knife would be in SR-101 myself.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> But, I know that won't be the case. So, I am probably hoping for 154CM. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

If trying hard to be picky, I honestly still prefer the older "Black" mudders. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />,

And I will likely be grinding off the thumb ramp for mine. (????) - Most of the thumb ramps don't seem to fit my hand right.... I ground off the ramp from my SJTAC and most other "USER" Busse and kin ramps....
The RMD's ramp actually does fit me, so I'll just have to wait and see about this S5LE's ramp. It might be great???

And SO WHAT, if those are about the ONLY complaints I see so far. I still LOVE everything else about it!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That SJTAC's blade shape is my FAVORITE Busse and kin blade shape - PERIOD!!! It is a VERY good all-around utility shape! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I can't see the full knife, but I can see enough. This knife WILL be a (scratch "Will")... This knife "IS" an INSTANT classic!!!!...

I am curious about the steel choice.

Better start saving guys!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I agree, KG. These Scrappers just keep getting better. The S5 is a beauty. I was going to pass on this one if it was a SY version of the Busse HG55, but this knife is completely different.

I am not so sure if Busse's 154CM is more costly than S7 or not (????). Rumor has it that tons of 154CM was bought at close-out dirt cheap pricing.
And in theory, S7 to SR-77 is a proprietary custom order batch of steel (????).

Anyway, for the record, the Bog Dog was $78.95 WITH a satin finish!!!! and D2 is also considered VERY hard to grind and even HIGHER cost than 154CM!

Further, Busse punches their blade shapes, so curves don't matter that much and they CNC cut most of the rest of the shape. Convex grinds really aren't much different to grind than flat in regards to time and cost.

Considering the S5LE is Res-C, I am hoping for less than $100 for the LE. If so, I will sell stuff to buy 2-3. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I was sort of hoping the S5 would be a version of a HG55 or another DM version so I "Could" pass. My finances are hurting me bad right now. I don't have funds to pay taxes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> and now this. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

I LOVE this knife and don't see how I can possibly pass. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />
