what would each of you consider to be your most all around useful busse kin knife.

mine would be my NMFBM,RMD or HRLM although i think this new S5 could change some things.

the reason my NMFBM is my most useful knife is because it harvests fire wood better than any edged tool i own and is great at batoning.the RMD and HRLM are just perfect sizes for belt carry out doors.

of coarse which one is most useful for the individual will be based on the chores and tasks they have their knives complete in their lifestyle.

technically my EDC folder is the most useful blade i have but since its not busse kin i doesnt count here.busse kin only.

My most used Bussekin blade is still my DFLE. I use it for cutting/trimming branches and clean-up around the homestead.

This has to be my favourite type of post....although at present I am still trying to work with some knives to answer this question. I believe I have narrowed things down to where they are all good options....and am simply now stuck on certain decisions...however in the small EDC catergory there is a clear choice ( S5 notwithstanding as it is not out yet )and that is the RMD.

Mid Size...is between SFNO LE, NMSFNO and FSH ( with a Camp Tramp awaited ).

Large Size...is between a Basic 9 and my DFLE.

Very Large...is my NMFBM...( with a Zilla awaited when released ).

Of the above definate "keepers" are my NMFBM...I have a lot of "user bonding" with this knife...it is an absolute "joy" to use on big tasks...and my RMD...again lots of "use"...the middle/large range is still a quandry as they are ALL very good...I need more time here as some of this boils down to how well they "carry"....here I might end up owning and keeping all of the above as parting with them would be "hard".

tough one...Camp Tramp or maybe Howling Rat...although my SS4 is my EDC now...

If there could be only 1, it would be the CT

hmm. probably the hell razor. small enough to cut my dinner, big enough to process wood.

i haven't been choppin much so the MPLE covers everything the choppers do, other than chopping and splitting, and does it better.

Very difficult decision. My cg dogfather is a joy to use...and it gets lots of wood processing use. However, I find that I grab my chopweiler more often. It may be because it is large enough to process wood and small enough (especially when choked up on the choil) to carve spoons and tent pegs, etc. More time is required to know between the two. I'd like to get my hands on a ratweiler (so much talk online of it's greatness) and a ffbm. For now, I'll say chopweiler but I'm not going to lock myself in to that decision. What's fun about this quest...ion is that the more you use your knives the more you learn how great they really are.

I'd say my Chopweiler is my most used/useful knife. It's serves me well in multiple roles. It's pretty versatile.

I'd say my Ratmandu, but the new S5 may change that.

When I had it my Game Warden was the most used hands down. It was hunting season though and it got used a ton.

Well, since I don't currently own a bussekin knife...I can't really contribute here. I will say that my EDC folder is always going to be my most useful knife as I always have it on me when I need it.

Now if you asked me what one knife would I choose out of my current collection as the ONE knife to have with me...That would be a much tougher choice.

One of these days I'll be able to participate in questions like this cause I will own some of these great knives I keep reading so much about.

Wrong forum to mention but they have to be thin, none of the sharpened prybar nonesense. My fav is the Dog Skinner, perfect size, handle and blade. Followed by the Howler/Yard Keeper lines.
