sadly, pretty much all kinds of ammo are getting too expensive to shoot weekly. the .22LR round is pretty much the only thing I use if I'm planning a range day trip. 2 bricks will set me for an entire day of fun. Even that is getting expensive at almost $20.00 per brick...

This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.

Kenken, you are right. I am building a dedicated .22lr AR so I can shoot for cheaper. I am putting a Kurts Kustom Firearms dedicated 1-16" twist 20" brl into an A1 upper receiver for that retro look. I can not find anything at Wal-Mart due to people buying it all up when they happen upon it or whatever they re doing.
I would like to get another .22lr pistol or revolver so I can start shooting cheaply that way.
Bad thing is I can reload but finding small rifle and pistol primers is almost non-existant too. What is a person to do? Buy more steel in my case.

PBL, or anyone for that matter, Qhat do you think of a Polish M44 that is not import marked for the US? The rifle looks almost unissued, has been fired, brought back to the US by a US serviceman back in the 1980's, has the German nitro proof mark with 7.62 Russ. stamped on the receiver, deep bluing, and lighter colored wood stock? He is asking 220.00 for it. Not a bad price. The Polish are the best of the M-44's. Many came to the US almost pristine with blond stocks and nicely blued metal....a much nicer looking M-44 than the usual crop of arsenal refinished, red shellacked, reblued guns. About 2003-2004, they were selling for $180.00. Keep in mind that standard M44's went for $75 or so at the same time. $220 is not bad at all if it's a nice example.

PBL, I appreciate the info. I might just have to hit him up on it. There is not a lot ammo around here for it but I saw where AIM had the Czech silver tip for like 4 bucks a box. Didn't seem too bad.

Not much to tell. They're the best single-action pistol in the world. These two are in .40 S&W. The HiPower was designed in part by John M. Browning, and after he passed away the design was finished up by Dieudonne Saive, who also worked for FN as a designer. With the release of the .40 caliber, FN switched to cast frames for all their HiPowers. In testing, the cast frames proved to be stronger than the forged frames, that frequently cracked under the stress of the .40 round.

Czech silvertip is good ammo. quite accurate for surplus 7.62 x 54r.
