Two weeks ago I saw a black racer trying to get into my parents neighbors garage. I tried to go get the snake then but it vanished by the time I got over there. The neighbors are a elderly couple and the husband has a brain tumor. I didn't want him or his wife trying to fend off a snake in their home due to his condition.

Yesterday I stopped by my folks house to say hi and I saw the Black Racer again. He put up a good fight but he didn't get to sink his teeth into me. I relocated him to a state park outside of town.

He was just over 3 feet long.

Yes it is. I have bend it down like that if I go in a parking garage or else it will get ripped out.

Cool looking snake. That was cool of you to do for the older couple. Snakes are amazing creatures. Any creature that lives out in the Arizona desert 24X7 in the summer has my respect.

The rattlers are coming out in full force around here now. It seems the little buggers are not rattling like they used to in years past which makes it a bit more dangerous. The 2 I have come across in the past month did not make much noise. In the winter I let my kids play in the wash behind my house, not anymore though. The heat is on here in AZ.

Its just a Uniden Bearcat (PC68XL). We just use it out in the woods and its fun to listen to the truckers on the interstate.

But the PA is by far the most fun feature on that thing.

Nice snake. I saw a huge King snake crossing my road. I have asked the neighbors not to kill the King snakes, but they have chickens, so I guess they will continue kill all snakes. I killed the big garter snake that swallowed two of my neighbors fresh eggs, but had it not been for that, and that he was already wounded, I would have let him go. Black racers are rare in some parts. I'm glad you could catch it and release it in a good place.

Cool pics but you can keep the snakes to yourself. Too many close calls with copperheads, rattlers, and cottonmouths.

In my spare time...haha, I catch and release most all of our native snakes here in Fla...Were trying to get permits to get the NONIndigenous reptiles out of the environs here...of course humanly , and we ALWAY carry our ScrapYards along.
