Okay...This is just another post to see what people have to say and what they would like if they could have whatever they wanted.
If you could have any knife you wanted made - what would it be (please keep it to fixed blades only - I know we all want an infi folder )? Please include size, handle material, steel and any other necessary details.
Remember, there can be many reasons that make this "your" ultimate knife - some of which are - you really want this style of knife in a certain steel - you are missing this from your current collection - you can't afford it but would like it if you could...In this thread - money should not be considered.
Here is my ultimate knife (man, this is tougher than I thought):
Definitely Infi steel full tang - satin finished 7" flat ground blade with a penetrator tip - 3/16" thick Comfortable hand contoured - slightly textured canvas micarta handles (I like green and nothing too rough on the hands but need some texture for gripping) An exposed pommel for battering, etc.
Well, that's it for mine - this knife may actually exist already - but I haven't seen it and I don't own anything like it. This turned out to be tougher than I expected...Give it a try.

My DFLE, NMSFNO and Ratweiler come pretty close. But I don't know if I could ever decide on just one if given the opportunity, without limits.

the knife i already designed and made, the magnum cleaver, is the more compact and versatile version of the knife i describe below and haven't made yet.
10" blade (maybe even bigger!), 1/8" thick, scandi ground kukri or golok. differentially tempered 1080 with any form of rubber grip, so long as it's not heavily indexed.
basically a short machete made with the love that goes into a knife.

It better be the one I just spent 8 hours sanding on, the NMSFNO!
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

My FFBM so far. Old style Ratweiler and RMD come in close second...
Enjoy every sandwich.

Well, this didn't go quite like I planned it... but hey, that's okay. I just didn't realize that everyone already owned what they consider to be the ultimate knife. I have some catching up to do!

i like the sound of mags knife...id prolly get a 12" (blade length) kukuri with a longer than normal belly and have it be in INFI with RES-C. or some type of golok or machete with a tip point.
right now my cgfbm is my ultimate knife
