Hey good to see everyone, I've been gone for a bit due to gun fever... anyway I finally got a shotgun and here she is along with the mighty SOD ![[Linked Image from img19.imageshack.us]](http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2802/sod8703.jpg) ![[Linked Image from img9.imageshack.us]](http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/4674/sod870.jpg) Thank you Rainwalker for the fantastic sheath! It's perfect in all aspects... comfort, function, durability... couldn't ask for anything more.

That 870 makes a great companion to the SOD!

I'm glad you like the SOD pants, and I'm happy to hear that they're working well for you.

Thanks!
You know what, I have to get used to it... I tried it out for the first time last Friday and was getting a lot of cheek slap. I think it had to do with not having the LOP on a longer setting. That along with the blast & recoil from patterning 3" buck gave me a small headache afterwards:). Overall though it did take a lot of the bite out and my shoulder came out un-bruised this time. The grip also makes it way more comfortable to shoot IMO although that Handall that I threw on there keeps moving around.

Nice combo, and good choice in the IWB sheath. I have the same sheath for my Yard Guard, and a similar sheath for my SJTACs. Next I'm going to order one for my NMSFNO and my M9 LE. And a couple of other knives, as well. I like the IWB style of carry for a fixed blade; it seems to work very well for me. I'm carrying my SJTAC Comp. Finish right now, as a matter of fact!

Great pic Bear! That is quite an able pair As to the cheek slap, the LOP shouldn't matter much. Just be sure that when you weld your cheek to the stock, be SURE you aren't choking your cheek up near the front of the stock. You will get nailed. Keep your cheek weld further back and allow about an inch or so of space in the front area of the stock Oh, also be sure not to pull the weapon in tight to the shoulder as it will take up the slack needed for the stock to do it's thing. It's just a bit different from a fixed stock

Hey Bear....You have THE right idea...the 870 is to shotguns like ScrapYards are to knives....They are TOUGH. I have a Knox stock on my 870 , put approx 250rds down range with that setup...its the best thing to happen to the old Remington yet.....there selling it from the REM LE factory in that configuration. The 870 is a diesel howitzer , and the SOD the best blade for the quiet work....now where's my Glock??
