A long-time buddy of mine is being deployed to Afghanistan in about a month. My brother and I are going to chip in and buy him a quality knife to take with him. Since he's going that soon, we don't have time to buy a knife, and then order a sheath and then wait for it to be made and delivered, so it has to be a knife/sheath combo. I found a M6 with a SpecOps sheath on that egad site, which I think I'm going to go ahead and pick up for him.

Unless you guys know of any issues with SR-101 in Afghanistan? I can't think of any, but I thought I would just toss this out there and find out for sure.

and to add, I know this is the Scrapyard forum, and I would probably ask this on the Swamp Rat forum if I thought I would get as much traffic to answer the question and give input!

Nothing wrong with that choice that I can think of. I would be happy as heck!

It's right in between the RMD and Ratweiler as far as size it seems.

Enjoy every sandwich.

That is a very nice thing you are doing. The only real issue is that it may be stollen out of pure envy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />

absolutely NOTHING wrong with sending a strong piece of SR101 to ya boy fighting in Afghanistan. GREAT choice!

I don't think you can go bad with a quality steel in any situation.

Thanks, guys. That's pretty much what I thought. I'll go ahead and snipe that auction right at the end. I love doing that, anyway.

That M6 is a rugged knife. You did well. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

A very nice gesture JB. The M6 is a quality piece of kit. I know he'll be pleased by it.
