I don't see how drilling will do anything for this type of wound? It is basically a bruise but under your fingernail...would you drill a hole through your skin elsewhere if you had a bruise? I would've just let it heal but good luck with your new hole. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You just saved the nail Clint. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

That will heal just fine! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Smart move and great advice. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

I drilled basically to relieve the pressure.. It has been throbbing non stop for three days... and it was keeping me up at night... So i finally cracked and had to do something..

Feels much better now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Cool - did it work? I didn't realize this would save the nail - if so - it was probably worth it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Good luck!

What a forum, everything from medical advice to zombie killing. Glad it feels better, Clint. Did you clamp it down before drilling? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I find that smashing your big toe with a hammer helps relieve the throbbing pain in your finger. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Nope, i used a really small bit and did it by hand.. Just took my time and was very careful.. It did shoot a nice pain up my arm when it broke through though..

All better now though.. Still tender, but not throbbing like it was.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Glad to hear it helped. I would not have thought to drill in to the nail. I probably would have just gotten a bigger bottle of whiskey. I don't think self surgery is something I would be good at.
