That would be a great idea Bruce as the Reg LE and the original TT are IMO the best way to go <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Great knives at that price. The mil overuns are nice- but I prefer the original grind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />If the lack of activity on the internet forums are any sign of how the shows are going <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />- it is a real buyers market at the shows. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Time to rev up your proxy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

It's hard to judge the effect the economy is having on shows from my POV, Bob. I'm not nearly as active a cutlery purchaser as you are. But I've got to believe that you're correct about it being a buyer's market out there. I won't have an opportunity to judge that in Atlanta this year. But it turns out there's a custom knife show happening right in my own backyard at the same time Blade is running. (Guess some knifemakers don't feel like making the trip to Atlanta.) Attendance and parking at my local show are free. So I figured I'd go and do a little G2 to see how the knifemakers are getting by. [censored] Bruce.........I sure wish I was down there as I would go with you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. I LOVE knife shows and especially the customs <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. Next year-I WILL be at Blade and add to the sales a tad. I tend to keep a few custom guys busy year round it seems. You guys need to get up this way and help test these in real " Bush" conditions. Looking forward to your report from that show as well as a report from Atlanta this year <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I am feeling a bit left out to say the least <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />. Well Blade is a no go for me this year but next year I will be there for sure. I would love to score some steel from the Bussekin, some others, but mostly to hang out with the guys from the Yard and Swamp. I hope there is an indication of what will be there before Blade hits.

You figure by the time I fly round trip from Oregon for just flight is about 1 K unless I do layovers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbdn.gif" alt="" />. Then you have about 5 nights of motels at about $150.00 per night and then add food and you are well north of 2 K. Say about $2500.00. This is BEFORE we buy steel <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />.So if you buy only 6 knives at say an average of 300 per knife <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />- a guy is around 4K. This isn't too bad and i am also figuring on taking my spouse which some might not be doing. 4 K is a fair price but one needs to spend more than a few days in the area <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. I think your idea about Sue & I coming next year and making a long trip out of it ( say 15 days) before and after the show is just the ticket <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />. I have been thinking I want a slightly longer blade (I also ordered a RMD and a swamp warden, as well as a Dumpster mutt LE)and I really wanted a THICK blade. I went and reread all the specs and this knife is awesome! Thick blade, nice length and SR101... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> Something I will rectify very soon <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Speaking from experience though, even if you don't buy a single blade the trip is worth it! The best part is getting to finally meet everyone and have a great time! Looking at 3 different flight just to get to Atlanta this year. Managed to find a seat sale though so the flight is about $1400 round trip. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> Hopefully I'll be able to be there the year that you are able to go!
