maybe you'll decide taking a little load off Jeff? Haha, I don't think so. I always new it was harder than it looked, but now I know for sure. I have no idea how Jeff can make those sheaths for the price. He must work much faster than I can even imagine, otherwise the margin of profit must be really small. It's [censored] labor intensive. Besides, mine looks like something the cat dragged in. I'll stick to my day job, thank you.

Yes, sort of. I looked at many sheaths on the net and then combined a couple of ideas. I really wanted something that I could carry vertically and horizontally as well as attach to a pack. Molle attachments also work well on this type of sheath.

Very nice job on the knife and the sheath, Gideon. That looks like a great hiking set up.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Great job on the knife and I am impressed with the sheath's design. Looks like you had a very rewarding day!

Nice knife, Gideon. That sheath is sweet. How difficult was it to work with the leather (stitching, etc)?

Nice knife, Gideon. That sheath is sweet. How difficult was it to work with the leather (stitching, etc)? Thank you. It wasn't difficult, I used a drill to make the holes before stitching. Going through 3 layers and then 5 layers of 7 ounce leather by hand is not an option...

thanks for posting this you have gotten me vary intrested in this but is that sheath design of your is what i like the most could you post a pic of the sheath design up close, thanks I did a number of sheath designs and in the end sort of combined some of them. It's easy to design but to implement the design, not so much... Here are some of the designs I used. The drawing you see in the photos is at home and I can scan it in for you later, but they all look similar to these: Hope this helps.

Gideon, I used to have a GSar very similar to the one you are wearing in the picture. 2824 automatic and bright tritium tubes.

I love my SAR. The best watch I've ever owned and very tough. And I love the automatic movement too. I decided on the traditional lumination as I have a Traser watch with tritium tubes and after about 9 years of wear they really started to faint out. Still, very neat way of luminating.
