I want a SY pen knife. SR-101. One that can double as a letter opener.

I'd like to see a 12" DFLE type chopper. Dan could call it the DFXL. A full flat grind on SR101 steel. What a camp machete that would make.

15-18" blade, Res C handle. Steel appropriate for the task - I'll let the experts figure that out - it's gotta be tough and still hold a decent edge and not too hard to sharpen cuz it's gonna get used hard.

The swords are ok, but I want something that handles like a machete for clearing brush, trail maintenance, etc, and I don't want a two-hand handle to get in the way, and it should not cost a house payment!

I confess (it is prob obvious from my reged date) that I have been lurking for a long time. I further confess to not having a SY blade yet (oops), but I sure like what I see, especially since SR stopped using Res-C.
I'm sure that will change ...

Yup - I love the old swamprats - got a howler, bandicoot and battlerat. I have a ratmandu too, but I really like the ResC. Essential in winter. So if Dan keeps up the great designs with ResC handles, I'm sure I'll add a SY eventually.
