I fimished a sheath for the SS4 (BRING ON THE MUD) tonight. It's been living in Kydex for a year now. The DFLE sheath I did about 6 months ago. I jacked up the stich line on the DFLE sheath by not having a proper backing when using the drill press and then by drilling back to front, DOH. I'm learning. The more I learn working with leather, the less I like working with Kydex. Leather is so much more challenging but much more fun.

It does man. I don't get to create much at work and I have never been good at mechanical things (although I have been known to lift Jeeps). Function over form seems to be my doom, but function is good.

This was my first leather sheath but I restitched it (incorrectly and not using a proper stich). BrianA, not sure if he still frequents The Yard, mentioned I should learn the saddle stich. It was excellent advice. I read about it, but I had to do it and jack things up in order to understand it. Now if I could only become one with the drill press.

That's a huge improvement from your first one. With practice and learning from your mistakes, you can only keep getting better.

Nice work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I like leather alot and many knives looks better in leather than kydex. A DFLE in leather is really nice <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
