I agree, people who who don't do anything because they are afraid of being sued are as bad as people that don't do anything because it does not affect them. I could not live with myself knowing I could have helped out in a situation, and the few times I could help out in a situation it did not occur to me not to help.

I'm very sorry that this is going on in your country Lachine. This is a truly horrible event. I don't however, think that there is anything political about being concerned about apathy toward helping our fellow man in times of need. Indeed the event is horribly sad, but I think that it is important to comment not just on the apparent tragedy, but also on the underlying tragedies of this event. I wasn't trying to imply that anyone who responded to this thread wouldn't have helped, and I hope nobody took it that way (I know that we are a decent group here) I was simply indicting the actions (or lack thereof) of some of the people in the video. I'm sorry if you think that I have led this thread astray or "derailed it" but I think that we are still on topic and I don't regret anything I've said.

Horrible. They didn't stand a chance. Prayers sent for the loved ones.

Thankfully there were a certain number who got out alive. I don't know how many survived, but way too many lost their lives in this senseless attack.

I didn't take it as a comment about people on the board, I don't think there is a need for you to apologise. I hope I speak for the other Dogs when I say I think we understand that you were making comments about the general state of people in the wider world, not the individuals you find on the 'Yard.

I'm not sure I see the problem with derailing of threads unless someone comes in with a specific agenda and an unwillingness to listen to and respect the other person's point of viewm, even if they don't agree with it.
I think that conversations naturally flow from one topic to another and that board threads tend to follow that pattern.
