The Dumpster Mutt is a sweet knife, no doubt.

At this point, if you wanted to get one you'd have to find it on the secondary market (bladeforums.com, ebay and so forth).

The Scrap Yard Company has a rather unique way of selling their knives. Their method reduces cost to give us the opportunity to purchase the very best for a very reasonable dollar amount!

Check out this thread, it should answer your questions.

But as of now, there are no knives available from the company direct. However, you should check this forum often over the next couple of months... there is sure to be something new coming, there usually is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Unfortunately the only place to really find a Dumpster Mutt is the secondary market or maybe one of the Gun Shows here in and around Ohio.

Scrapyard usually only has one knife model for sale on the website at a time and for a limited time only. The Scrapper5 was the last release and has just recently been taken down from the order section of the site.

Just a random little question if any of you have a survival knife or anything...

What is your preference on a survival knife straight or serrated edge?

Welcome Kiba!
Unfortunately you just barely missed out on a good blade in the S5.
However...
There are Dogs here who purchased several and will probably end up selling some when time to pay for Waki's comes around. So, stay tuned and you may have a chance at an S5. As for survival blades, The debate will never end. Ultimately what I have seen is that your best option is not one knife but two. Whether it be in the form of a multi-tool or some other configuration is a matter of taste. Since joining the Yard my addiction for steel has afforded me many blades I love and would be willing to carry despite the weight factor. Ask these Dogs for combo pics of their favorite setups and you will get many links to previous threads on the subject. It is a popular topic.

To get a really good answer give us more details. What scenario will you find yourself using this knife in? Is there a type of steel you prefer? What size are you looking for? What kind of terrain will you be in? etc.

Good choice; serrated knives are, IMHO, a waste of steel. If you take the time to properly hone your straight edge, it can do anything a serrated knife can do. As well, it's a heck of a lot easier to re-hone the edge on a straight edged knife. Serrations tear, a good blade slices.

And welcome to the yard, Kiba. Sorry to see you missed out on the S5 (It was taken down from the site this past weekend).

If you read ColdOnes' thread on secondary markets, it should help you find a Dumpster Mutt, if your heart is set on one. I would especially check out the first site that NewDogma mentioned (Cough, cough)
