The regulator can and will penetrate almost anything I'm sure...but light in the hand??? I prefer a steel guard and less Resporine on the grip. Would love to have a "Tanto Mudder Regulator"..til then , the SoD will do.

Archangel: If (make that WHEN) you wright your book, please please please let us here know. It's one thing to occupy one's mind with fictional trivia, quite another to fill it with fact! I spent 20 years in the Air Force, never went to war, but DID get involved in some scarry (international reprecussions) stuff working at the 5AF CAF in japan. And as YOU know all to well, the truth can be unbelievable. Thank you for your willingness to BE THERE AND DO THAT. Freedoms always come with a price, unfortunately many never take the time to realize that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Light in the hand is more a question of balance than actual weight. The M9LE, despite being a longer knife with more steel, feels lighter in the hand than an NMSFNO, for example.

There isn't a whole lot the Test Team can tell us about the Regulator except whether they like the knife or not. We already know it can chop concrete blocks, and dig out wood with the point. And those who have handled it like the feel of it. It's a nice Bowie. I can tell you that. Some don't care for the flex in the quillion, but I think it does its job of keeping one's fingers off the edge. Personally, I just don't have a single suggested change for Dan on this one. BTW: the famed SOG Bowie is about as thick.

Hey HD....Thats the "CAV" unit...AirMoble. We were the Ranger unit that worked the "trail" from Udon into Laos/Cambodia 74/75. We did call in ARClight missions , did PSYOPS , Tag&Bag missions. We recovered down pilots ,recovered remains of U.S. personnel , POW rescue and worked with the Nung and Ravens. Some of our missions are still classified. I will be writing a book, if GOV'T gives me waivers on details. If not..we'll change the names to protect the "Innocent".

I served in the 56th Special Ops Wing up the road at Nakhon Phanom in 67 and 68. I am sure you are familiar with our operations and worked with some of our folks. We did a lot of "work" on Uncle Ho's trail. MLT 3 "Heavy Hook" SOG operated from our base.
