Thats a tough one, but I'd go with the SOD.

I vote if you can get an orginal Ratwiler get one but I would take the SOD over the Chopwiler, it has amore forgiving handle. That is true, and that is why I think I will try my hand at para wrapping.

I didn't say it holds the "same" edge as infi/sr-101, I said "almost" . From what I understand/experience, INFI/SR-101 will take a super scary-hair popping edge, where as SR-77 will take a scary shaving sharp, which is good enough for me as I rarely pop hair in real use. They might hold an edge a little longer, but slicing paper like in the waki video after chopping like that should be no problem, especially if you use the untouched part of the edge and slice towards the dull part, the sharp part + the momentum should carry it through the rest of the paper. Anyways, I will make a video next time to back up what I said.
And one more thing, I don't want people to think I prefer one steel over the other, I just think SR-77 gets kind of a bad rep for it edge holding abilities when in my actual experience it does a good job. A usable edge doesn't necessarily need to be scary sharp. I agree aboutthe 77 not having the hair popping ability. However, it does get a nice edge that is useful. Don't get me wrong, I love my SOD LE.

Both are superb camp knives. The CW is great, the SOD legendary!
338, it just rolls off the tongue.

I have both knives and I'm happy with both of them. You can't go wrong with either one - I think it is just more a matter of personal taste in blades.
