This is one of the biggest questions I have about Busse-kin knives as a whole. SR-77, SR-101, and INFI are all big on toughness. I do not understand why most INFI knifes are made overly thick. It seems to me that one of the big benefits of very high quality steel is to make a blade thinner, to allow it to achieve the best slicing and cutting profile and reduce weight, while maintaining the strength and durability of a much thicker knife in a lesser steel. Rat Cutlery, TOPS, and Becker all basically use 1095 and are all regarded as tough knives and many, if not most, of the knives these companies put out are 3/16" or less. With Busse-kin's better steel and heat treatment I could see muck thinner blades then what are being designed and sold. I guess it is just that many people like a little extra girth.

INFI blades are crazy thick because HOGS will pay a huge premium for thick blades. The obnoxiously thick Inactive Duty with the tequila sunrise handles sold for some crazy price which made me throw up in my mouth a little, but the HOGS were snatching them up.

Thick on huge knives I can deal with - the NMSFNO is thick and it gives it some great weight, the regulator is crazy thick and I LOVE IT....

But some of those really thick blades under a couple of inches long just confuse the heck out of me.

A long point has lots of utility beyond just stabbing people. The Regulator might be a "fighter" type design, but I've found many uses for it that don't involve bloodletting. Long pointy knives, if they are made strong enough, can be very versatile.

I love the shape of tht knife. CS has had some QC issues and that makes me kind of nervous. I've seen a bunch of them broken of BladeF.

I'd buy a green regulator right now if they were offered.

Im thinkin that after going through several cheaply made knives with poor workmanship, weak steel that doesn't hold enough of an edge to slice a peanut butter sandwich, AND paying too much for them, that we all got good and tired of this kind of thing.
