I wonder if the EZ Strip gel from Wally World would work?
Several years ago my uncle was stripping the paint off a little truck that he bought from a farmer. Anyway, the old man had used some kind of paint that I never seen or heard of . My uncle and I DA'ed it for a bit and decided to the heck with that. We were talking to a old school custodian and he told us to use the stripper for waxed school floors. We did not dilute it, just put it on and left for the night. Next day everything was peeling off to the point of just using a scrapper and little effort. We read the instructions after the fact and realized we were lucky not getting cheical burns. Oh well, what don't kill makes you stronger or smarter!

I personally think leaving the coating on is best. It looks cool without it though.

Gotcha!!! I thought the knife underneath was supposed to be the Gen 1.. Here's some borrowed comparison pics: Troy's gen 1 howlers, including the rare tan one. ![[Linked Image from images.complete180.com]](http://images.complete180.com/HRpants05.jpg) Here's a pic from JWBirch of a BA-III followed by Generation 1-3 HRs ![[Linked Image from i26.photobucket.com]](http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c103/dakota232/HRs.jpg)

I wonder if the EZ Strip gel from Wally World would work? Any epoxy stripper should work. If you do a search, tutorials have been posted here in the past, including one by Vic.

Wood, that is an idea. Are you talking about the traditional way of channeling the wood, attaching th two pieces and then wrapping with some kind of finish material?

i'm probably going to do a semi-industrial scabbard of some type. probably use layers like the leather sheath makers do, and screws instead of stitches.
could use glue and then wrap it in something, but i think i'll just screw and stain it.
