hi guys

do you guys remember what today is??

we dropped the A bomb in Hiroshima 64 years ago today.

http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2009/08/hiroshima_64_years_ago.html

I thank the Lord that we did, as I probably would not be here today. I had a grandfather that made it through the landing in Sicily and Normandy on the first day of both. He and his LST were in route to the PI's and surely would have ended up in the invasion of Japan. It is terrible that civilians lost their lives but the US was not the ones that asked the Japanese to attack us, or put their military manufacturing infrastructures within the civilians area.

Well, It's been a good week for knives for me. I received my DDF and my Vex, received my RW sheaths, got 3 S5LEs ordered and am expecting in the mail today my two new Moras. Also, purchased off the secondary market a SOD and a DCDM. Sweet!

And, yes, I have a problem.

nice scores!

Hey there,
I got a question on a Busse Hell Razor. The previous owner took the humps off the top of the spine, removed a little meat from the tang, and convexed the edge. How much do you think that would affect price, percentage of price would be fine. I got to admit that it looks good from the pics but was wondering anyway.
Thanks

He ruined it, it's worthless.

(Just my opinion of course! )

My guess is, it lowered the value a bit, but I dunno how much.

The High Street came with a near-worthless 35 degree edge on a little EDC sized slicer knife, so I put a nice shaving sharp convex on mine. Then, before actually using that new edge, I decided to sell it.

No one wants it. Others have sold, for 30-50 bucks MORE than I'm asking for mine, and they didn't come with a sheath.

If it's not perfectly mint, the Hogs who buy knives to put in a drawer aren't interested, and they seem to be the biggest buyers on the forums.

I've sold or traded every single knife I've put up on bladeforums, except the two that weren't mint - one a user with a FAR more functional convex edge than the crappy factory grind, and that high street.

The only modded knives I've noticed selling quickly were Horn Dog's full convex jobs.

I think that's enough sheath making for the day. I posted a new thread with pictures.

I noticed that a long time ago. If a knife is a user- it either won't seel- or go at a reatly reduced price. If you are going to sell them- best to queen then I am thinkin

What I laugh about is the fact that the Hogs don't even want a sharp edge. People have to point out in their for-sale threads that, not only is a knife UNUSED, it is UNSHARPENED as well.

Because, honestly, who wants a sharp knife?

Considering the edge Busse ships on some of their knives - apparently not their customers.

My rats and dogs have come a lot sharper, in general, than my hogs.

Kinda crazy as I guess it is just some kind " Hog Collector" thing . Just seems odd ya wouldn't want a sharp knife ? Maybe we can start a whole new language. Like " Hog Dull" or " Rat Sharp" . Oh well
