Knotslip, thanks for the head's up on the Titanium Military, that's a nice looking knife.

For the Spyderco fans out there, which of these would you buy? My current pocket knives are the Hinderer XM-18 in carbon fiber, Strider SnG, Victorinox OHT, Victorinox Alox Farmer. I'm looking for something a bit lighter and thinner for more comfortable pocket carry. I generally like being able both open and close the knife with one hand.

Manix 2 C101GP2 - 154CM - NEW!
Qty: x $70.15

Military TITANIUM Clipit PLAIN EDGE - PRE ORDER
Qty: x $188.90

Rookie - Foliage Green G-10 Scales SPRINT RUN
Qty: x $89.99

Sage - TITANIUM Scales - BRAND NEW
Qty: x $139.99

Caly 3 - ZDP-189 Blade - Carbon Fiber Scales
Qty: x $145.75

Vox- I don't own all of these but I own similar and the ones I don't own - I have on the way.

Here are my thoughts:
The Military would be first choice if you want to carry that big a knife as EDC - I really don't.

The Sage and Sage II are awesome knives for the price and I highly recommend them...but they are made in Taiwan. Still great knives.

The Manix is getting stellar reviews and is perfect size and has great ergos.

Caly3 is many folks favorite EDC from Spyderco - I don't own one and this is one I don't have on order. Same with the Rookie (don't know much about the Rookie).

Honestly, you can;t go wrong with any of these as they are all great knives. For EDC, I would choose the Caly or Manix as they aren't limited production knives - but if you don't care about that then the Millie or Sage would be good also. I personally prefer the Paramilitary for EDC- It is slightly smaller with all the same features as the Millie.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I always carry a Spyderco Pacific Salt:
- extremely lightweight for blade length
- rust-proof
- easy to get sharp on Sharpmaker
- fair edge holding
- under $70 shipped.

I would agree with KnotSlip that they are all great choices, but the above is what I always have with me.

Take the clip off for thinner carry down in the pocket, or buy a smaller Salt series.

finished the kydex on my general utility knife, made some changes to my pikal's handle, and didn't like the wide blade on my little necker so I narrowed it down by adding a mean recurve. I'm off to work right now and and need to redo the edge on my necker so pictures tomorrow.

I love it, now I'm going to think of that when I post.

Vox is latin for "voice".

I'm currently deciding whether I want to try to make some kydex to fit my mr mojo tonight, or relax with a cold beer. Hmmmm....

Now that you've tried it a couple of times do you feel confident making one for your "grail"?

User or not, it's still a special knife, right?

The knife is what's special - I don't really care what carries it, as long as it does the job. It was a grail because I like to beat on recurves. A beater knife deserves a beater sheath
