well i must warn you as fun and addicting as knife buying is..knife making is far beyond that.I havent been doin it long,but i love .There is a definate art to it that just takes you over>>As a matter of fact out of all the hobbies i've been into over the years knife making is by far my favorite one

i have a problem making my hobbies into jobs..... probably why i jump around so much..... thats what happend to glass... but i love working glass... i like working metal too , but im fairly hopeless at wood work

not to mention if youve got your own tempering oven you are way ahead of the game.. I started out with a harbor freight 1"x30" belt sander. It's really cheap(about 50.00)but it gets the job done on skinners. Its no good for larger knifes though cuz the platen is not tall enuf and it's only 1/4 horsepower so it slows it to a stop on the big ones. Matter of fact i still have my 1X30 cuz i cant afford to upgrade cuz all my money keeps buying knives.

yea , i am looking into a grisly .... and theres a few local ones.... 1-4 inch belts... but i need one any way.... lol

what i really was looking into was plasma tables....... 10gs but i can make all sorts of stuff....

glass blowing is something i've been interested in trying for awhile now but i guess i just never got around to trying it.I have seen some amazing glasswork though. It probably costs a good amount of money to get started in that though i would imagine

yea the griz is the one i want to step up to. Its the one that i shoul have started with. The prices on them are really good,but shipping on them really racks up the price.

more then knife making......
i would sugest you take a few classes before you jump into glass work ... then you know the lay of the land a bit more.... i think my first basic studio ran me around 2gs totaly with torch , kilns , supplys , gas, tools....

the plasma tables i been looking at , you hook a plasma cutter up to a router table... then you put in a program load a sheet of steel on the table , and let her go.... cut any shape its programed too
