I'm more chomping at the bit to sharpen it. I was planning on getting my sander out this weekend and touch up some edges, and I want to put a really super thin edge on that S5LE and make it a mean bushcraft knife.

that sounds like a plan MM
there are a few 1911 variants i like ... brownings .. any thing with a reliable action , and a large capacity of 45 i like... dont get me wrong i like em they shoot so naturaly.... but the cost to size ratio i have other guns i like more...

I like my 1911 Kimber. I've had a few and they all work great, I bought them before their prices started skyrocketing.
