i'm pretty set on a blackhawk in 45lc, but the 357 gp100 seems like a great all purpose handgun. they have the hogues standard now, too. Without HP ammo...might want to look towards the 45. http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/catalog/index.php?cPath=21_38Check it out. Good stuff. Ruger makes awesome SA Revolvers too, IMO. Tough.

Anybody a pocket knife historian? I got my hands on an old folder that I'm thinking about cleaning up. It is a pocket folder, with two blades. One is a thin, wide spear-point type blade, very similar to your standard issue SAK. The other blade has a flat, blunt end meant to be used as a screwdriver, and the sharpened edge is straight and does not go all the way to the point. The second blade locks, the first does not. On the base of the knife blade is stamped "Camillus", which I've heard of. The scales are black plastic. The blade metal appears to be stainless (not rusted to any great degree), and the chassis is brass. There is a large integral pivoting lanyard loop. we have some guys here who could ID that knife. sorry but i can't.

oh, and we're allowed to own and target shoot with hollow points, but we can't use them defensively.
kinda pointless buyin em, then.
is .357 ball ammo gonna serve me any advantage (outside of price, recoil, and .38 compatibility) over the .45lc? I am gonna say overpenetration might be a concern. Just a thought though, I am no expert. I'd go big, heavy, slow, for ball ammo.

My next guns if I get any are an XD-45 Tactical(feeling cheated by only getting 10 rds in CA) and a Marlin 45-70 lever action. I really like the Model 1895GS, but want 6 rds, instead of 4. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I have a Winchester .44 lever with the big hoop and it's very cool, but something about the Marlin's I like. I have a few 1911's and prefer my Glocks, for the record. You can almost see the Winchester in this pic. Yes, it's a really, really big bowie. ![[Linked Image from homepage.mac.com]](http://homepage.mac.com/tedwilson/.Pictures/CherokeeRose.jpg)

Marlins are a stronger gun usually.
Easier to mount a scope too, unless you have a Winchester side eject.

I'd go big, heavy, slow, for ball ammo. i like that answer. gp100 is out. now it's pretty much a matter of revolver vs 1911. ammo cost v gun cost.

Chuck would roll in his grave at the thought of a scope. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" />
