I actually would move to Missouri or even where Vic lives. My wife however does not want to live in the country. Not an outside girl. She does not know what she is missing!! I am 15 minutes from downtown Brunswick, and 45 minutes from Jacksonville, FL.

I moved to California and met my wife. My wife lived in LA county all her life and when we moved to orange county that was a big deal...I laughed. I had mentioned a few times about moving over the years but she was not wild about it. The people the attutudes the traffic the high cost of living the continual building on every square foot of land finaly got to her. Mind you California is in a (perpetual) drought and they were still going to build 14,000 new houses plus schools just south of us. My wife had enough so we moved. It was a big change moving from a city of 94,000 to one of 16,000 but she loves it and she can't wait to get into the new house in the country. Bors

Bors - 16,000 ? Our little town has a population of 259, and I live four miles from town !!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I have a VietNam buddy who lives in Los Angeles, and he has visited us a couple of times. He really had a hard time grasping the fact that we have to drive 19 miles to go to the store, get a pizza, etc. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Although our little town was something fifty-odd years ago, the only "business" we have is a Post Office - no gas station, bar, or anything else. This really blew his mind! He would go insane if he had to live here. Yet we moved here from the greater Chicago area, and have never been happier. To each his own I guess !! Tom

Welcome back Dan! I absolutely love it here - hunting and fishing on my own property, peace and quiet, etc. I'm happy that my kids appreciate it also, as they love to visit whenever they can. My only "problem" is that my son has managed to out-fish me on my own pond! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Of course, I enjoy seeing him do it!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Makes me feel like I did something right with my "kids" - they're 35 and 36 years old. Tom The house in the country is 14 miles outside of town. 7 miles to the nearest mini store and 14 for anything else. Your place sounds great!! For some people the space is just to much.
