i wouldn't compare it to cameras. every piece of wood sounds different. the weight, the grain, the way it's cut, and the finish applied to it all affect the tone. on top of that you have the fitting of the parts. if the neck and the body vibrate at different frequencies, you get the typical guitar on the wall at sam ash.

gibson does make some crappy guitars, too. SG special, to name one.

i have a gibson sg standard model. love the way it sounds but for some reason the neck just feels to big for my hands? and i dont have small hands, but i dont have huge ones either.

i really like the feel of my tele though.
