Short answer: SR-77 is derived from S-7 tool steel. SR-101 is derived from 52100 Ball bearing steel. S-7 is probably the tougher steel and 52100 probably has a slight advantage in edge retension.

Gravelface, I did see '300' and think Dan needs to create a sword in SR77, from your avatar. What an awesome movie!!!

Your signature should say "This is SPARTA!!!! (kick) King Leonidas :-)

Kraz, thanks, thats the kind of layman terms I can digest, but don't quiz me on it later!

1. S.Y. Dumster Mutt

2. S.Y. DFLE

3. BC SH aniv

+1

#1 MUTT!!!

After that, the DFLE. I'm a bit torn on this one because I already have the CG, but I'm sure I'll weaken when they are closer to release.

Finally, the SH1 anniversary...I'm curious what the pricing will be on this one, the pics I've seen of the original SH1s make me want one.

By far, the Dumpster Mutt is the knife I want the most right now. It looks like a great all around camp knife and the price leaves me no choice! I just hope Dan makes a TON of these.

the dude abides

Yeah, I am nervous and excited at the same time for teh SH pricing. I have a strong hope that it is a celebration pricing...

I'm expecting the ANSH to be fairly expensive. I'm imagining a 7.5"-8" blade, 5/16 thick, satin finish? Some of the early SHs had a 6 1/2" blade. A smaller blade would imply better pricing..but still, we're not talking EDC pricing here

Go look at Ted's pictures on BF in the Swamprat forum if you haven't already. I liked Ted's shots better than Erics. 'Course Ted does this for a living...
