overall I am happy with this knife, I'll agree its a tiny bit forward, for me if the blade was 1/2" shorter it would class as my favorite, I'm still in search of the "perfect blade" for me, however this one is very close, I'm rating it an A- ....and there's a very good chance I'll be in on the LE model. scrapyard did good, this one will be tough to beat.

Got my 2, I agree on the balance. Sharpness was much better on this one than some others. For some reason I thought the blade would be a little wider and shorter. Guess it had been too long since I looked at the pics.

This one was pretty darned sharp when it arrived. But one thing... there was about a 1" section that for some reason still had a bit of a wire edge. I fixed it, though.

I like my S5, I like it a lot!

My only change would be to round out the choil and lose the thumb ramp. Still, it is an awesome blade that is definitely in the rotation.

Even though this is my first knife from the yard, I have to say i was impressed. The mudder fit well in my hand and had no slip and the knife came with a good edge.

not uncommon from what I've seen.

and a 'talon hole'.

That's a Busse trademark, so you won't see it on the other knives from here and the Swamp.

Another 3/4" on the handle would perfect it for me but I have some pretty big mitts. It still feels great though. I'm lovin' me some mudders.

Now if the LE is a different grind, Infi, or I can get #71 I will get one. How cool would it be to have all three of the three wish's granted!

Aren't the LE automatically set for a full flat grind? That would take a little weight off.

Or....
Drill a couple of small holes @ the butt of the handle and insert some lead.
That's probably stretching it a little huh? LOL
