Inspired by the intense wood splitting done by El Clintor with his SS4, I decided to see what the S5 could do. I was stunned and amazed! I split this oak tree down the middle, after climbing to the top with the S5 in my teeth. Not an easy thing for a man of my age and weight.

And unlike El Clintor's SS4, the coating on my Scrapper 5 was unscathed!

Well, maybe it was split by a thunderstorm, but it looks good to me!

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

HAHA! You would of had me if the story didn't include you climbing that small tree. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Hard to baton while you're on the tree also. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Is that a convex edge you already put on it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Looks good!

Too funny - I would have believed it if you didn't claim to climb to the top. Should have leaned a ladder against it to complete the illusion. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

hahah, good one.

the S5 is the thinnest SY I have and my first SR-101. After a little work on the edge, I'm surprised by just how sharp it is.

Very nice, I probably would have been duped if not for the last line (I just woke up too, my brain is an easy target)

Hah!

Can't wait to see some good use photos! I have zero time at the moment...mine is minty fresh. What a shame!

Yes, I sharpened it and it really does cut very well. In fact, I could actually do some light chopping with the S5, with its slightly blade heavy balance. It worked well for slashing sticker vines out of my way, too. I just love the edge this steel takes.

Ha, ha! I really like the convex edge you put on it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That was almost believable, except for the immaculate finish on the knife afterwards!

Good one Horn Dog. Trees that small are better to simply break over your knee I find...
