It is a glorious day here on Blythe Island, so I went for a little hike on the nature trails today. I have taken pics of this area before, but not in full Summer greenery. Lots of folks were out at the park, boating, swimming and fishing. The picnic area was full, too, but I did find one little table for myself. And then down the trail I went.

I carried my new Scrapper 5 today. It fit a Condor sheath I have. This will have to do until my Rainwalker kydex is done.

This was a nice place to take a break, with a good breeze blowing in off the water. I carried my ZT folder, too.

When I got to the camping area, it looked different. The shade was gone and grasses were growing around the fire ring. A storm had blown down a large live oak tree and removed some of the canopy.

I continued on down the trail, clearing many large spider webs with my walking stick.

I was glad to get out of the jungle and back to the shore where the mosquitos were not so bad and I had a breeze.

It was a good day to walk. It wasn't too hot, about 88F. It's a good day to be out and about.

Awesome pics. I love the scenery in coastal Georgia - the mix of salt marshes and jungles full of palms and dense vegetation is awesome. The bugs can be a nightmare this time of year though, which brings me to...

That thing is going to haunt my nightmares.

I would have never gotten that picture - I would have been too busy dropping my camera and running away while screaming like a little girl.

No, I am not supposed to bring any knives, axes, hatchets, machetes, or saws into the park. I usually only carry knives I can conceal, like my Rajah II. But the sign didn't say a thing about swords. I'll bring the Waki!

I don't "like" spiders either, but I still take pics of them.

Great pics Vic! I have that same ZT folder thanks to some of your positive posting about it. It is a nice folder though. I didn't realize it was nearly as large as the S5 though until I saw them side by side in your pic.

Thanks for the pics!

Thanks for sharing your walk. Now the spiders, well I can do without them.
