I'm sure there will be some on the secondary market, for those of you who didn't get to order one

(I only grin because I suspect I will either have to sell one, or give up food for about a month)

I've been out of work since October and selling some of my favorite knives to get along but the Waki is definitely coming home to stay with me. The Zombies are getting closer!!!

mhawg, I got the same feeling about the zombies. I don't want them too close to me. Got to figure out what kind of sheath though.

Clint - yes, I have a Waki coming! Originally I was going for a black/black combo, but I decided on a sage/tan micarta one instead. I have a longer piece of leather which I plan on dying a little later today, so it shouldn't take me too long to make pants for my Waki!

I'm seriously thinking about hitting up a local plastics place looking for kydex scraps to make my waki sheaths from. They are gonna be pricey.

A kydex Waki sheath would be nice and light, but I like the look, smell, and feel of leather for sheaths. Besides, how many Samurai used kydex?!!?

I am thinking about getting one of those leather/kydex kybrids done up for my Waki, because it's special.

Enjoy every sandwich.

That would really be sweet! I was joking about the kydex because I only have leather to work with. At one of the Blade shows Brian from Okuden had a kydex sheath for a Busse AK (I believe), and it was really nice. He is another pro sheathmaker who does beautiful work.

Yeah, I have kydex for my NMSFNO by Okuden. It is FINE kydex; no blade scrap at all and crisp lock up with no wiggle.

Enjoy every sandwich.
