I was just wondering how many of you will actually take your new Wakis into the woods with you. I am thinking about keeping mine in my Jeep for an emergency chopper or self defense weapon. I might just carry the Waki into the Altamaha River swamps instead of a big knife or machete, but I think the local Regional Park Supt would freak out if I carried it there. It would be hard for me to conceal a sword.

Yeah, I don't see myself ever really actually carrying the thing - it will be taken along to play with, but not with the intention of using it as a serious tool.
Car camping, screwing around in the backyard, walking the dogs past the house of that annoying neighbor lady who always gives me dirty looks... those are the uses for the waki.

This was the main reason I couldn't justify the price. I'm kicking myself a bit now though, but I need to stop buying things I'm not going to use.
My condo is so full of kids, I ain't got room for anymore "things"!

Yeah, mine is going to be sort of like my Desert Eagle; fun with friends, just messing around destroying melons and whatnot.
Enjoy every sandwich.

For the most part it will be a "big boy toy" and something for my friends to be jealous of that they don't have one....then there is the dark side of me that no one sees that will be glad I have it in case there is ever an emergency and I run out of bullets.......ok I'd better stop there.....wouldn't want to give anybody the wrong idea

Depending on how it handles, I will carry one in the woods and use it for certain clearing tasks but not really for big chopping. The others will remain on standby but will not see use unless necessary.

I know this much it swings really well. I already cut some small stuff with it and chopped some serious hard elm and oak that is hard as a rock. The blades still shaved hair and sliced a piece of paper like it had not saw any wood at all. Now I need a sheath to take it out on trips--and I do believe leather is going to win this one!
