I went for a green linen Vex, but ended up with a black canvas.

I REALLY wanted a DF...but I use a 4in blade a lot more than a monsterchopper, and with the Wakis showing up at the same time as some other bills...


I decided to wait for the Dogfather XL 12" coming out next month.

I surmise that they're out of red G10 (that was my first choice, but I got my second choice, green linen) and now green linen because you didn't score your first choice -- Amy said that they didn't have many Vexes. I was a tempted to try picking some up at the Fall Knob Creek, but my impression became that they were a limited run (intended for Blade only), and that there may not be any more. It'll be interesting to see if I could have waited (and if doing so would have resulted in more handle options) or if "a bird in the hand" was the right decision.

Personally, I don't find the Vex nearly as visually appealing as the S5, but they seem quite popular with the people who own them, so looks may not be everything.
