Honestly the funnest part was the woefully inadequate rod I was using and thinking for sure it was going to break in half when Mr Striper bent it around like a pretzel.
I just got asked to go at the last minute and didn't have time to pick up a reel for my striper rod that's been collecting dust in the corner.

Nice Striper, how much did it weigh?

We catch a lot of them here in Georgia where I'm at...love to catch them, but not a big fan of eating them.

She showed 16Lbs on our little scale but of course looked a lot bigger :-P

And it was delicious by the way!

It's been a while since I ate a stripped bass but if memory serves they taste pretty good if you remove that black vein towards the center of the fillet.

Yeah we both thought around 20, but who knows as to the accuracy of the little spring scale...
Tasted really good, it's a red strip you need to remove from the center of the fillet.

If you don't remove that read meat near the skin when you fillet it, it really tastes crappy and its really mushy too. Its really good breaded and fried...especially with some hush puppies and cole slaw. You can't beat eating fresh fish!!!

That's the biggest Bass I ever saw. Nice catch! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.
