I thank you all and look forward to the knife. I will post my thoughts on it after putting it through its paces for a while. I'm off now for the weekend. The local rocky ground and the camping hammock thread in the neighboring outdoors and fieldcraft forum got me thinking. I will likely post some thoughts on simple hammocks and tarp camping in that thread on my return. I will be car camping because the purpose of the weekend is an airgun field target match but it never hurts to try out new bushcraft methods and gear while you have a Plan B.

I will also report on a new lightweight alcohol cook system that I am trying out and will post on if it has not already been covered in the other forum. It cost less than $15 for the entire system, weighs next to nothing and comes with free beer.
