I started my Iraq tour with the ratweiler but found it to be just too big for what I was doing.

You needed a DM CG. Would have been perfect for you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

welcome to the yard JT!!!!!

don't know if you have checked out the S5LE but it's looking like a winner when it comes to knives. maybe not as stout as what you are looking for but worth a look for any knife fan.

I have checked it out. It's a little out of my price range for now. I almost bought a standard one from a guy at bladeforums, but someone beat me to it. Too bad. It was my first choice. Maybe one day I can catch one, but it's not in the cards right now. If I could, I would own all of them. The only knife that has come from the yard that I didn't like is the scrap muk. I am sure that design has its uses, I just don't like it as well as a bowie type blade.

I felt the same way. I found SYKCO and fell in love with their knives, but at the time the Muk was the only one for sale, and I passed. Came back and found the S5, before I got it I started regretting not buying the Muk, so I picked one up off the secondary market. I love the Muk!! it's a very useful blade, a do-it-all! I don't think anyone who has a Muk doesn't use it.

I've only used mine once, to cut a pizza. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" /> I might carry it more if I had a decent sheath for it. These dang knife releases keep getting in the way of sheath money. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
