As nice as it is, I think my convexed Sarquatches and NMSFNO have that niche covered. And then there are the M9 and DFLE. But if I didn't have those, that SAR8 looks like a winner to me with the full convex edge and all.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

The narrow profile is not unlike the Ranger RD9, which is an excellent chopper. The full convexed SAR8 should chop at least as well, probably better, and it is INFI. But, as I said, I passed. It was expensive anyway, but it looks more useful as a SAR knife to me than the SAR4.

There was a time when I'd had to have bought at least two, but I've decided that I really need to be more selective. That's not to say the SAR8 isn't a beautiful knife -- I think it's more appealing than the upcoming batch of Mistresses, although I plan to pass on them too. I haven't appreciated what I already have, except for bragging rights about what I own, because I'm so focused on what to buy next.
I got a fortune cookie a few months ago that summed up my collecting habits: "It's not the having; it's the getting." I've said that I need to cut back before, but then I have a panic attack about falling behind, and load up on another order. I've felt calmer than normal for about a week, and I think it relates to retreating from being quite so knife acquisitive.

Yep. The SAR8 looks a little like the Bravo 2's big brother to me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Heard about the Bravo-3? Bigger and made in 3V steel. Maybe. I wonder how 3V stacks up against INFI? I'm sure some of our resident steel experts can tell us.

I like it. But not for $597.00. I'm saving my pennies for Knob Creek. Then again, there'll quite possibly be a few SAR8s there and I'll be able to check one out in person. It sure is pretty, though. I just wish it had a little more guard. But of course that's the same fault I have with the SAR4.
Speaking of Knob Creek... who all is going?
